Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) is looking forward to making the best use of the prevailing market conditions. It has made some changes in the senior management. According to reports, Comcast has decided to promote Arthur R. Block to General Counsel, Executive Vice President and Secretary of the company. He worked as the Senior Vice President of the company previously. Block reports to David L. Cohen, Executive Vice President of Comcast.

His Corporate Career So Far:

Before getting promoted to the Executive Vice President’s Chair, Block used to look after the legal matters of the company. He is the chief legal officer of the company and handles legal, compliance, corporate governance, and strategic intellectual property issues. Block has been working, with Comcast for last 26 years. Over these many years, he has also rendered services as in-house attorney for various mergers, acquisitions and trade financing deals. Couple of important deals under his sound leadership includes NBCUniversal and AT&T Broadband.

Cohen looked delighted to promote Art to the EVP’s post. According to him, Art has been an integral part of the team that looks after the legal affairs of the Comcast. Throughout his tenure, Art has earned respect, trust and confidence of all the executives of the company. His intelligence, sound leadership, and popularity among the teams across different geographical boundaries will help the company grow in future. Prior to joining Comcast, he worked as a partner in the corporate department of Wolf Block, law firm based in Philadelphia. He used to advice Wolf Block in legal matters before joining Comcast as in-house counsel in 1989.
