Walt Disney Co. (NYSE:DIS) and IMAX Corp. (NYSE:IMAX) have made a three-year partnership that covers animated, as well as live action movies.
IMAX will remaster and will be involved in the release of 14 films including the new “Captain America” and “Guardians of the Galaxy 2”. According to Greg Foster, the senior executive vice president of IMAX Corp. (NYSE:IMAX), the deal is an extension of the partnership represents a next step towards creating a diversified slate.
Some of the notable films that will be made under the partnership are:
Ant-Man (July 17, 2015): In this movie Paul Reed plays the title role, the movie will be directed by Peyton Reed.
The Finest Hours (October9, 2015): The movie has Chris Pine, Casey Affleck and Ben Foster in its cast.
Star Wars: TheForce Awakens (December 18, 2015) The movie is directed by J.J.Abrams and has a new cohort of characters. The movie is highly anticipated.
The Jungle Book (April 15, 2016): This one will have Jon Favreau as the director and has a cast including Bill Murray, LupitaNyong’o and Scarlett Johansson.
Captain America: Civil War (May 6, 2016): The movie will have Black Panter (Chadwick Boseman) and other familiar Avengers stars
Alice in Wonderland: Through the looking Glass (May 27, 2016): The Johnny Depp starrer will be directed by James Bobin.
Finding Dory (June 17, 12016): The movie is a sequel to “Finding Nemo” and will star Ellen DeGeneres as an amnesiac Dory.
Doctor Strange (November 4, 2016): The movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character.
Star Wars: Rogue One (December 16, 2016): Gaereth Edwards will direct this one.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (May 5, 2017): The movie will be directed by James Gunn.
Star Wars Episode VIII: The movie will be directed by Rian Johnson.
Toy Story 4: The movie will be co-directed by John Lasseter and John Cooley.
