ABB Ltd. (ABBN) or ASEA Brown Boveri was recognized with the 2017 Global Company of the Year Award by Frost & Sullivan on its recent analysis of the Distributed Control Systems (DCS) industry. ABB received this recognition for its innovative process automation systems. The company is also planning to team up with Formula E to champion e-mobility.
Currently, ABB owns one of the largest installed bases of process automation systems connecting over 70 million smart devices via 70,000 control systems. Thus it is one of the largest bases as compared to the other automation vendors in the business. According to the Consulting Manager, Frost & Sullivan, Ram Ramaswamy, ABB is always abreast of critical issues and keeps on targeting transformative trends such as Urbanization, Digitization, and Innovation to Zero to contribute in the development of industry-specific DCS solutions. He further said that this will create new value and opportunities for the company’s customers.
Ramaswamy believes that it will help ABB to stay ahead of the competition and retain its pole position in the DCS market.
ABB Team Up With Formula E To Champion E-Mobility
Both the companies are teaming up in a ground-breaking partnership to support e-mobility to ensure sustainable future. Formula E has successfully established itself as the topmost all-electric international motorsport since it first participated in the Beijing race in September 2014. ABB, the global pioneering technology leader is planning to take the development to next level and hence has decided to add its name, innovation, and technology expertise to the series.
The joint venture between the two will be known as “ABB FIA Formula E Championship.” According to Ulrich Spiesshofer, ABB CEO, his company is extremely excited to enter into the partnership with Formula E in writing the future graph of e-mobility. Trade analysts believe that ABB is the ideal industry partner for Formula E as the former has an unrivaled expertise in electrification and leads in electric vehicle charging solutions.
ABB has the largest installed base of fast-charging stations for electric vehicles globally.
