Road So Far:
Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise became separate from Alcatel-Lucent some time back after Nokia had announced the acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent for as much as $16 billion. Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is not a part of this transaction.
What’s New About New Launch:
The enlargement of switching portfolio has come in the form of OmniSwitch 6900-Q32, which is a data center and campus core device for all those companies that require a programmable and low latency scalable fabric. One of the features of this device is the availability of 32 40Gbps QSFP Ethernet ports that can easily be divided in 104 10G ports by using splitter cabling. It tends to support OpenFlow 1.3 for networking that is led by the world-class software, intelligent Fabric software of Alcatel-Lucent and VXLAN gateway capabilities in hardware.
The best part about these enhancements is that they are self-configured and can easily allow the switches prepared by the company to be unwrapped and cabled. The Intelligent Fabric software can configure the network without any hassle. It also supports the self-attachment feature that can configure all the access switches, virtual machines, servers, third party switches, and various applications within no time.
For vertical and physical integration, Intelligent Fabric software identifies VMs in applications across the physical infrastructure as well as VXLANs. The company is delighted to announce these updates and hope that they will help it build a better market presence in the future. The management of Alcatel-Lucent hopes that it will also contribute to the elevation of the revenues in the future.
