In an effort to extend product and service design offerings, EPAM Systems Inc (NYSE:EPAM) disclosed that it bought the Britain-based Great Fridays Ltd. The acquisition is expected to supplement EPAM’s product development, as well as, software engineering solutions.
In a statement, EPAM Systems Inc (NYSE:EPAM) said that Great Fridays focused on narrowing the gap between design and business. As a result, the United Kingdom company was able to offer help to several companies like Mastercard Inc. (NYSE:MA), Vodafone, Pearson and Sonos. Great Fridays not only developed attractive products, but also established smart new business practices to provide permanent commercial value, as well as, business transformation to its customers.
EPAM said that the current situation in the corporate world demanded good design and design thinking to stay ahead of the competition. It believes that the design influenced decision making. EPAM Systems Inc (NYSE:EPAM) also expects to gain from Great Fridays’ ‘design authority’ attitude since it would extend its abilities and support its clients create their business tactics. With the necessary experience and the design support, the company expressed the confidence that business outcome would be positive to its customers.
EPAM CEO and President, Arkadiy Dobkin, said that he was eager to have Great Fridays align with its team of professionals. He said that its clients were also excited about the combination of strong engineering skills with digital knowledge that EPAM Systems Inc (NYSE:EPAM) has established through the acquisition of Empathy Lab a couple of years back.
Similarly, Great Fridays Co-Founders, Matt Farrar and Rob Noble, said that it has established design as a bridge between technology, brand, business and the consumer time and again in the last six years. By merging with EPAM Systems Inc (NYSE:EPAM), the founders said that design thinking became the primary point for EPAM’S client offerings.
Great Fridays’ founders also said that they could not wait any longer to integrate its product and service design attitude with EPAM Systems Inc (NYSE:EPAM)`s software engineering distinction and international scale.
