Keurig Green Mountain Inc (NASDAQ:GMCR) has been mentioned as a long-term growth story. Analysts at Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS) weighed in on the stock with a “buy” rating and set $166 price target on it. The upgraded led to a significant uplift on the stock of GMCR. Other rating firms have also recently commented on the stock. For example, analysts at Williams Capital issued a “buy” rating on it and raised their target to $131 from $125. The company had EPS of $0.99 in the most recent quarter, which was better than the estimate of $0.88. It generated $1.02 billion in revenue for the quarter, up 5.7% from the like quarter a year earlier but behind the consensus estimate of $1.05 billion.

Becton, Dickinson and Co. (NYSE:BDX)’s latest acquisition move continues to receive positive reactions among the investors. There are hopes that the company would be able to boost its products offering, market share and reduce costs through the acquisition of CareFusion Corporation (NYSE:CFN). BDX agreed to pay $58 per share of CFN in a cash and stock transaction that values the whole deal at $12.2 billion. The company has reported entered into a financing deal with certain financier to obtain $9.1 billion in bridge loan to fund the acquisition. The financiers include Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS). The combination of BDX and CFN is expected to lead to the creation of one of the top five medical devices entities in the world. BDX had revenue of $2.16 billion in the recent quarter, signaling an increase of $5.1% from the like quarter in the previous year.

Semiconductor Manufacturing Int’l (ADR) (NYSE:SMI) recently announced plans to issue $500 million worth of bonds to help it raise funds to pay down some of its debt. The company said it expected net proceeds of about $491 million from the bonds offering. SMI tapped Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM) as the joint lead managers in the bonds issuance.
