The provider of real-time data software said cash and cash equivalents at the end of the latest quarter, 3Q, were 19.3 million. That signaled a significant improvement from $16.5 million at the end of the previous year.

As for the profit, Attunity Ltd(NASDAQ:ATTU) reported $278,000 for the latest quarter, which translated to $0.02 per share. On an adjusted basis, the company emerged from the quarter with earnings of $0.07 per share. Revenue was $9.4 million in the quarter.

Cempra Inc (NASDAQ:CEMP), a drug developer without a product in the market currently, fared well in the latest quarter – 3Q. The company achieved two remarkable endpoints in the latest quarter. Its loss narrowed and revenue edged up in the quarter. Both columns drew support from milestone payments under a collaborative drug development agreement with a Japanese company.

Without the milestone payments, the company primarily gets its revenue from federal contracts. It is developing treatments to curb infections in children.

In the latest quarter, Cempra Inc (NASDAQ:CEMP) reported a smaller loss of just about $11.4 million. That compared with a loss of $13.6 million in the same quarter last year. Revenue was entered as $7.8 million, up from $6.6 million in the like quarter a year ago. The revenue was boosted by $4.3 million in milestone payment realized from a Japanese company known as Toyama Chemicals.

Blue Nile Inc (NASDAQ:NILE), an online jeweler, had a glittering 3Q as both top and bottom line figures improved from the same quarter last year. The management also issued an upbeat guidance for the current quarter. The company said it was disrupting the market to deliver the best quality to its customers.

Blue Nile Inc (NASDAQ:NILE) generated revenue of $105.8 million in the latest quarter, which was 6.9% better than the like quarter last year. Net income also came in strongly at $1.7 million, topping $2.9 million last year.

For the current quarter, 4Q, Blue Nile Inc (NASDAQ:NILE) expects revenue in the band of $159-$174 million. The company ended the latest quarter with cash and cash equivalents of $32.3 million.
