Office Depot Inc (NASDAQ:ODP) reported that it recorded a perfect score of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2018 CEI. This index is a national benchmarking survey and update on corporate practices and policies related to LGBTQ workplace equality.
Zoë Maloney, the SVP of human resources for company, expressed that they are delighted to be acknowledged by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation in the list of the Top Places to Work for LGBT Equality, and that too for the seventh successive year. The company is committed to an inclusive work setting that respects and values the contributions and talents of every associate. They engage a workforce that showcases the diversity of the communities they serve, and provide equal opportunities for development, encouraging their staff to advance to their full potential.
The 2018 CEI evaluated 947 businesses in its report, which assesses LGBTQ-related practices and policies including domestic partner benefits, non-discrimination workplace protections, transgender-inclusive health care advantages, public engagement and competency programs with the LGBTQ community. Office Depot’s initiatives in meeting all of the CEI’s criteria led in a 100% ranking.
The Human Rights Campaign Foundation marks as the educational unit of America’s leading civil rights firm working to achieve equality for gay, lesbian, queer, bisexual and transgender people. It foresees a world where LGBTQ community is embraced as full members of society, whether it is at work, home or in every community.
Office Depot is a major provider of office supplies, business services and products offered through an omnichannel platform. It recorded yearly sales of around $11 billion in 2016, engaged around 38,000 associates and served businesses and consumers in North America and abroad with around 1,400 retail stores, leading e-commerce sites and a committed business-to-business sales firm.
In the last trading session, the stock price of Office Depot declined more than 2% to close the day at $3.28.
