Axcess Canada Inc. president Tim Magill dumped his tablet in favor of the Blackberry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) Passport, and he has a very good reason to justify his choice.
Mr. Magill is constantly on the move just like any other executive, but that’s not why the phone is called the Blackberry Passport. It has more to do with the ability to get things done. He claims that the Blackberry handset is the ideal device for him to travel and still get work done on the go. He attributes this to the hardware and the coding for the device’s software as well.
The Blackberry Passport has a huge screen and keyboard, allowing him to handle both his communications and his work with ease. He can easily juggle his work and private life thanks to the device. His clients are usually financial services providers that purchase loan management software from his company. His firm also develops HTML5 financial services applications for mobile phones, tablets and PCs. Magill claims that he has worked and tested numerous devices, but none of them has been as compatible with his business as the Blackberry Passport.
He also claims that he is an avid user of BBM and email, so the physical keyboard is handier to him than the touch interface. He can easily avoid typing errors when talking to clients and thus saving him time. He is also impressed with the “work wide” idea because the display is wide enough to handle tasks like making presentations or reading documents and eBooks.
Mr. Magill also pointed out that the BBM is one of his favorite things on the Blackberry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY). He recently switched to BBM meetings and was very impressed its integration to allow a variety of devices, thus overcoming one of the barriers facing other systems. He can collectively bring all his work to the Passport without the need to use an alternative device. Magill also commended the device for the security that it provides especially in the financial field.
